Wing Ding competition in Santa Cruz.  There were prizes for indivdual, corporate and most original.  Michelle(my daughter) and Jason (soon to be son-in-law) entered this for the first time.  They worked to perfect their receipe.  Looks really yummy!

Their booth--"Day of the chicken wing."

They received 1st place for individual competition.

1st place for the most original.  Double excited.  Here they are shown with Jason's daughter Savhanna, Michelle, Jason and their rewards.

Just finished this, added a little yarn to give it some dimension.
I have a quote that I would like to share.
"The wisest mind has something yet to learn."
George Santayana
I have a very wise mind, as I have a lot to learn.
Have a great week end.

I took this picture inside the Wieliczka Salt Mines in southern Poland.  All carved from salt, amazing.  This is part of the chapel where they still hold mass.  Poland is still in my mind,  a lot of hardship and  and sorrow.  It was a very memorable trip.

this is another picutre I took in Central Europe. I really like the window treatment.  So European and beautiful.  I took a lot of pictures of windows, dozens.

This is a picture I took in Munich a few years back when we were on a tour of central Europe.  I thought I'd share some of my travel pictures that I have taken over the years.  It's fun to look back and see some of my favorites.  This is one of many.  Hope you enjoy.

This is a great clock that was given to me my neighbor.  I just love it.
Funny how I can remember things from years ago---I had a teacher in 7th grade (Mrs. Mclean) that my dad also had when he was in 7th grade(years before me).  There was a large clock on the wall above the door at Peter Burnett Jr High in Sant Jose, CA.  Above the clock was printed in large letters--TIME PASSES, WILL YOU?  I have never forgotten that.  I can't remember last week but I can remember things from my youth.  I'm again, watching the rain and wishing for some sun.

I want to wish everyone a safe Memorial Day weekend.  Let's remember the past and present military who have given their lives.  Pray for peace and an end to war.
This is the completed loosen up.  It was fun to try something new.  Maybe I'll be doing something outrageous next.
