Today I decided to take a break from sewing.  I started this clay face .  I'm letting the clay dry and then I will begin painting her face.  I haven't had too much experience making faces but I thought I'd give it a try. to be a little more creative ---clay, felting(bird) and the cut out  dress, which on batting.   I still do not know what will happen to the background of the canvas.

 A wonderful surprise.  My dear friend Kathy/Kathleen, and the other half of French Cupboard stopped by to drop off a birthday gift.  the beautiful mug she made along with the wonderful handmade tag.  It has been a week long celebration that ended perfectly with a personal delivery of my gift

Sunday started my week long birthday celebrationS.  The pineapple upside down cake, my favorite was made my Michelle. 

The reason I say week long is because between the girls and a couple of good friends I have lots of HB festivities.  One a day all week long

This a piece of fabric that I printed on.  I just love this girl.  I found the picture at a flea market last year.  Didn't know what I was going to do with it, but I purchased it knowing that at some time I would use it.   The cloth I used is 100% cotton.  A new shoulder purse is in the making for this particular piece.

  Last week I took a trip to the local fabric shop, which I love.  This was my purchase!!   It is the only shop that carries really nice clothing fabric in our area. 

 I love the sun!  Woke up this morning with the sun streaming though the windows.  I am so fortunate to live in this beautiful part of California.

How do we measure time?  Days, weeks, months, years?  Tonight I will be celebrating my 38 years of marriage.  It seems like only a couple of years ago.  We now have four grandchildren, one is already in high school.  We are so proud of each one and hope to be around to see them all accomplish their dreams and ambitions.  I just wish I could slow down how fast the years are passing.  I will be celebrating a birthday this month--yes celebrate!  I used to hate having birthdays but now I realize must celebrate each and every Day.  I am truly blessed with family, friends and good health.

The rain has finally stopped for a little while, so we can dry out a little. 

Did a little straightening up in the sewing area and ran across loads of bibs that I appliqued and machine embroidered on last year. Found lots of things I forgot I forgot I had.   More to come.
