 Happy Mother's Day!
Just got back from a wonderful lunch with Michelle, Michaela.  Michelle's friend Nicole organized an outing to have margaritas and then have pedicures.  Was a very fun afternoon and also very relaxing.

This is another of Christine's pieces that is sold.  I just love the mood it sets.  Kinda how I feel right now.  I'm on my way to get a much needed hair trim.

We are having beautiful weather--very lazy.  New plants are in the pots and I am enjoying the bright blooms.

My finished project.  Mounted on an 8"X10" canvas.  The background is fabric that I printed mod podged onto the canvas.  The edges all around the frame is two to three fabrics cut into strips and mod podged.  The dress has three stones down the front.  The bird and flower I felted and glued in place.  It was fun and I may try it again.

I'm just about finished with the project.  I have added the felted bird and flower.  The background needs to be pasted down.  The scraps of fabric are being fixed to the edges of the canvas.  I'm getting there.  I still need to work on the eyes-not right yet.

Have a wonderful Easter!

I got the hair on the head.  The hair is an old scarf that I made several years ago.  Recycle, renew, reuse.

I'm working on my face--still needs a a lot of work.  I have lots of fine detail to do but I'm jpretty satisfied with my first try.  I still have to decide what I will do about her hair.
I took the day off yesterday from sewing, I spend the better part of the day with my friend Sharon.  We met several years ago when I was working part time at a fabric and sewing machine shop.  She taught classses on how to use the eight thread serger.  she  Had so much information on what could be done with the serger.

I need to have more fun days--we need to take time for friends--life is short.

Today I decided to take a break from sewing.  I started this clay face .  I'm letting the clay dry and then I will begin painting her face.  I haven't had too much experience making faces but I thought I'd give it a try. to be a little more creative ---clay, felting(bird) and the cut out  dress, which on batting.   I still do not know what will happen to the background of the canvas.

A wonderful surprise.  My dear friend Kathy/Kathleen, and the other half of French Cupboard stopped by to drop off a birthday gift.  the beautiful mug she made along with the wonderful handmade tag.  It has been a week long celebration that ended perfectly with a personal delivery of my gift

A quote from the back of the mug.  "Don't dwell on what has passed away or what is yet to be."

Dear Mom, I miss you so much.
